Corey Gemmell Performs Sibelius’ Violin Concerto in D minor

Join us February 10 for an evening featuring Tchaikovsky’s final and greatest symphony, and a virtuoso performance by Toronto area violinist Corey Gemmell performing the Sibelius violin concerto.

The concert will be held at P.C. Ho Theatre in the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto at 5183 Sheppard Avenue East on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 8:00 p.m.  The program includes Sibelius’ Violin Concerto in D minor, performed by violinist, Corey Gemmell; Moussorgsky‘s Dawn on the Moskva River (from “Khovanshchina“) and Tchaikovsky‘s Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Pathétique.

Corey Gemmell, violinist, has distinguished himself as a soloist and chamber musician across Canada, Germany, the United States and China.  Mr. Gemmell serves as concertmaster of Mississauga Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Toronto, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir Orchestra, Symphony on the Bay and the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra.  He often performs in this role with the Boris Brott National Academy Orchestra, Elora Festival Orchestra and Esprit Orchestra.   An avid chamber musician Mr. Gemmell has toured and recorded extensively as a member of Ensemble Vivant.  He is also a member of the Elgin String Quartet and the National Piano Trio.  He often performs with Chamber Music Mississauga, New Music Concerts, including their 2016 tour to Beijing, and Array Music.
