Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra was eagerly looking forward to welcoming all our patrons to the February 12 concert and introducing our new Music Director, Martin MacDonald. Unfortunately, given the surge of Omicron transmissions across Ontario and lingering uncertainty regarding capacity restrictions, it is clear that rescheduling the February 12 concert is the most responsible course of action. The continued health and safety of our audience members, musicians, and staff remains our top priority. The new date for this concert is SUNDAY, June 26, 2022, 8pm.
Subscribers and ticket holders for the February 12 concert have been contacted by email and offered a range of options, depending on if they are able to attend the concert on the rescheduled date.
At this time, given the plans for re-opening announced by the provincial government, we are hopeful that our scheduled concerts on April 9 and May 28 will go ahead as planned.
Programming for the three remaining concerts of this season has also been revised as follows:
Saturday, April 9, 2022 8pm
Holst – The Planets
Mahler – Songs of a Wayfarer, with Mezzo Soprano, Danielle MacMillan
Glenn Buhr – Akasha
Saturday, May 28, 2022 8pm
Rachmaninoff – Piano Concerto No. 2, with pianist, Stanford Cheung
Schumann – Symphony No. 1, “Spring”
Sunday, June 26, 2022 8pm
Brahms – Hungarian Dances Nos. 5, 6, 7
Dvořák – Symphony No. 8
Sibelius – Finlandia
Robert Rival – Northwest Passage Variations
We are truly grateful for your continued support and look forward to welcoming you back at the April 9 concert!
