Join us for an exciting concert featuring collaborations with TRYPTYCH CONCERT & OPERA, and ENSEMBLE TRYPTYCH CHAMBER CHOIR, as well as the finals of the 2014-15 Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra Clifford Poole Vocal Competition, in an evening of opera!
Love, jealousy, and crimes of passion – Puccini‘s one-act opera Il Tabarro (“The Cloak”) centres on the owner of a barge moored on the Seine and his younger wife who longs for love and adventure elsewhere. Cathedral Bluffs is pleased to welcome back TrypTych Concert & Opera and Ensemble Tryptych Chamber Choir for this performance.
The biennial Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra Clifford Poole Vocal Competition Finals will feature two finalists performing arias from J. Strauss Jr.‘s opera, Die Fledermaus. A panel of judges will announce the winner at the end of the concert and audience members will also get the chance to vote for their favourite!
The program also includes a performance of Verdi‘s Overture to Nabucco.
